Tax advice

As tax consultants, we prepare annual financial statements for entrepreneurs and for companies of all sizes. Here we provide you with comprehensive advice. The proactive forecast of future tax burdens is also an essential aspect of our work. Only knowledge of tomorrow’s potential taxes makes it possible to plan, structure and design optimisations. In this way, we provide financial planning security and room for manoeuvre for the future. We understand tax advice as comprehensive support beyond the annual financial statement. 
We also apply this understanding of our work for private individuals and prepare tax returns for you.
In addition to the professional aspect, constructive cooperation with the tax authorities is a central approach for us, and whenever tax audits, external VAT audits, etc. are due, we are happy for these to take place on our premises.
In cooperation with our legal department, we accompany company spin-offs and support the formation and conversion of companies and file appeals such as objections.

Inheritance and gifts 

When assets are passed on, whether by gift or in the case of inheritance, it is always necessary to check what taxes arise. We help with valuation, handle communication with the tax office and prepare the necessary gift and inheritance tax returns for you. 
We support you in planning tax-optimised gifts. In cooperation with our legal department, we also clarify and deal with gift law issues and inheritance law when drawing up wills. We strive to find the best arrangement for you. 
Especially in inheritance cases, there are always disagreements or critical questions among the beneficiaries. Here, we protect the interests of our clients. However, our preferred solution approach is to moderate in such situations and to bring about a constructive agreement between the parties involved without litigation in court. 

Company succession

Planning the succession of a company and structuring it in the best possible way from a tax point of view is a complex process that needs to be carefully coordinated, takes time and requires many decisions and careful structuring. A lot of tax, legal and company policy steps have to be examined in advance. Company succession affects all areas of the company, the employees, yourself and your family. Together, we draw up a long-term plan for the future of your company. 
Company succession can result in high tax burdens if a special focus is not placed on this. In our law firm, comprehensive tax optimisation always takes place in parallel with corporate law structuring. Therefore, we plan your company succession in close and direct cooperation with our legal department in order to find the best way for you. 

Payroll accounting

We look after businesses of all sizes and take care of the tax and social security administration of employees for you. We take care of all the administrative steps for you, such as registration and deregistration with social security and health insurance funds. We prepare the payment of the net wages and are happy to make them available as a file in your online banking. As an entrepreneur, you can thus concentrate on finding the right employees and managing operational processes. 

At the same time, we take care of the certification process for you, compile statistics and accompany you during wage tax and social security audits by the tax office, the pension insurance or the employers’ liability insurance association.

We provide you with the wage and salary evaluations either in classic hard-copy format, electronically by e-mail or through the certified secure application DATEV Unternehmen online. For your employees, you also have the option of retrieving the wage and salary statements, social insurance notifications and the wage tax certificate via the certified secure application DATEV Arbeitnehmer online.

Financial accounting

Financial accounting, or “FiBu” for short, is a sub-area of business accounting. Ultimately, it records all business transactions that can be expressed in figures. On the basis of financial accounting, we prepare annual financial statements for companies in the form of income-surplus statements according to § 4 para. 3 EStG [Income Tax Act] or balance sheets according to § 4 para. 1 EStG. 
We can also prepare financial accounting for you. We process your receipts classically in hard-copy format or digitally, but we record and archive all relevant data for you. This means you can access your receipts at any time via our online archive. Of course, you are welcome to take care of your own financial accounting. Here we offer our certified software DATEV Unternehmen online for uncomplicated, secure and fast processing and direct data transfer. 

Doctors and medical professions 

We offer the entire range of tax and legal advice and structuring that you are confronted with in medicine and in the medical professions in practice. This covers a wide spectrum: valuation, purchase, foundation, conversion, handover. But also questions on turnover and trade tax law, especially in the field of medical professions. 

Before you make your decisions, we first examine the available alternatives and analyse the current situation. Subsequently, we show you ways to use the full potential of your practice. On this basis, you can take the next steps in a strengthened position.

We draw up and review contracts for joint practices and practice groups and provide support for the admission and departure of new colleagues, as well as for the sale of your practice. Together with our legal department, we build a coherent concept for you that meets your needs and consists of tax structuring and suitable contracts. 
Tax consultant Ivonne Schmidt-Sauerbrei is a certified specialist consultant for doctors and the medical professions.

Construction and trade 

We are partners for all tax matters relating to construction and trade. For example, we prepare the wage and salary statements for your employees in compliance with the respective legal requirements for construction wages and take care of the settlements with the holiday fund (ULAK), winter construction levy, etc. 
We take care of the ongoing financial accounting and prepare annual financial statements. In addition, we offer to keep the open item list for you and, in cooperation with our legal department, to arrange for the collection of outstanding debts. 
Within the context of construction projects, exact documentation is the core of correct and, in particular, complete invoicing. We are happy to support you with cost centre accounting, as a basis for post-calculations. We also manage and structure the allocation of revenues to revenue accounts for each construction project. 
Furthermore, we draw up and check your contracts for work, labour and company agreements and conduct any legal disputes that may arise.

Business start-ups

We accompany entrepreneurs into self-employment. In the pre-establishment phase, we first prepare your business plan and support you in budget planning. The right legal form for your future business must also be considered from a legal and tax perspective. In addition, you will need to apply for any necessary financial and subsidy funds (e.g. KfW loans), articles of association, employment contracts and many other legal and tax-related steps. We will accompany you through all this. 

Emergency file

We keep all key documents such as marriage certificates, wills, powers of attorney, contracts and suchlike sorted and organised so that you always have them at your fingertips. We create your emergency file together. If necessary, you or your loved ones will have the most important documents immediately at hand.
